Director Sjaron Minailo create his interpretation of the opera Semele for the Opera days festival in Rotterdam the Netherlands. Minailo himself calls the opera a anti-opera. The result is a minimalistic abstract performance. Maarten Warmerdam created the lighting for this production. For this production we wanted to make clear choices in the lighting . We created three spaces of light and by making the transition of going from one to another a event we enhanced the meaning of the story.
